Telecentric Lenses

*Telecentric Lenses Explained:

Telecentric lens is a lens that is frequently used in machine vision systems because of the image magnification. An exit pupil at infinity makes the lens space telecentric. Telecentric lenses are frequently used in high accuracy gaging applications.

Telecentric lenses the image size is virtually left unchanged with object displacement. Object displacement only occurs if it stays within a specific range. This range is often referred to as Telecentric Range.

The front lens diameter of the telecentric lens must be as large as the object field diagonal. Telecentric rnge can be best described as th efield debth range where the magnification remains constant and does not change under any circumstance.

The highest quality Telecentric lenses show an extremely low degree of distortion. A Telecentric lens is also referred to as a compound lens which ha sboth entrance and exit pupil at infinity. A very clear orthographic projection is provided by a Telecentric type lens.

Telecentirc lenses produce images od the same size no matter what the distance between the lens or the image sensor. Telecentric lenses come in a VS-TCT Series which offer super high resolution. The VS-TCT lens has an extremely low distortion rate and is available in a co-axial model.

The VS-THV Telecentric Series allows for contrast control and adjustment. This model lens is compact and it offers a distortionless design. The THV Series will support up to a 9 megapixil format sensor camera. The VS-THV model comes with threaded fasteners.

The VS-TM Series Telecentric lens offers high resolution as well as high performance. In addition, the VS-TM Series offers higher magnification and comes with a rear converter lens. The VS-TM Series is one of the few models that comes with a rear converter lens.

The VS-TEC Series offers variable magnification. In addition, the TEC Series offers improved brightness features. The VS-TEC can be used for a variety of useful applications.

Telecentric lenses are clearly unique and they offer a variety of useful applications. Some of the newer Telecentric models come with threaded fasteners.
